The Large Glenrowan MK2 Compliance
Installations requirements for Large Glenrowan MK2.
Before installing the Large Glenrowan Mk2 the masonry encolsure must be cleaned thoroughly and inspected to ensure it is in a sound condition.
Unless reduced by the provision of heat shielding the Large Glenrowan MK2 it is to be installed by the Australian Standards AS/NZS 2918:2001 for the fireplace inserts as follows:
Not less than 600mm from the top of the hot air outlet of the appliance to any heat sensitive material, e.g. mantelshelf, situated above the appliance, and not less than 300mm from the outside surface of the appliance firebox (refer to diagram below).

Safety clearances specified may be reduced by the provision of appropriately located heat shielding. For more information refer to Australian/New Zealand Standard Domestice solid fuel burning appliances - Installation Clause 3.2.3.
Mantelshelf heat shield
Heat shields under a mantelshelf shall extend over and beyond the appliance for at leats 200mm towards each end of the mantelshelf or to the ends of the mantelshelf whichever is the lesser. The heat shielding shall abut the wall and extend to the front edge of the mantelshelf. The heat shielding must be manufactured from heat-tolerant or heat-resistant materials.
